Mothman

Up until now, we’ve shared more subdued cryptids, the skittish, the frail, or just sad, but today we finally have one a bit more… dire. Not just a creature who causes harm, but a veritable harbinger of calamity. Whether that’s because he’s a saboteur or a prophet of doom, none can tell for sure. He just… watches.

Mothman is one of our higher CR offerings in Curious Cryptids, and can seriously shred a party not prepared for him. As a legendary creature with a talent for layering debuffs, a failed save or two will have the party struggling to even land a hit as the claws of the terrifying Mothman go through them one by one.
